Sound Devices brings the highly acclaimed CEDAR sdnx noise suppression plugin to their 8-Series mixer/recorders. This is a result of a collaboration with CEDAR Audio Ltd the makers of the CEDAR noise suppression technology.
Furthermore, the CEDAR sdnx plugin is available for purchase in three versions – a 2, 4, and 8 instances of suppression that can be inserted on any combination of channels and buses.
Moreover, the plugin functions at sample rates up to and including 96 kHz and has near-zero latency.
No Separate Unit Required!
Previously, a dedicated hardware unit was required to run CEDAR noise suppression with an 8-Series mixer-recorder. However, now sound recordists can take advantage of the CEDAR sdnx plugin internally in the 833, 888, or Scorpio.
What makes CEDAR Noise Reduction so special?
Over the last few decades, CEDAR has become synonymous with real-time, low-latency, and artifact-free audio restoration and noise suppression. In a nutshell, the plugin has been designed to reduce unwanted background noises giving you cleaner dialog.
Also, CEDAR sdnx has near-zero latency and one simple control for adjusting the amount of suppression. Up to 8 instances are available per mixer-recorder/device.
These instances can run on any combination of isolated channels (excluding 17-32 on Scorpio) or bus.
