Sony has announced the latest VENICE firmware v6.0 update packed with new features and more slow-motion options. Firmware v6.0 will include more support for higher frame rates in 5.7K, 4K and 3.8K among many other improvements such as improved 3D LUT monitoring.
Advanced Rendering Transform (.art)
In addition, the upcoming firmware update will allow the import of Advanced Rendering Transform (.art) files that improve on-set monitoring. Furthermore, the .art files can be generated by Sony’s RAW Viewer software, from users’ own 3D LUT files.
New VENICE Looks Library
In addition, Sony is collaborating with Technicolor for a new VENICE “Look Library”. Moreover, this library will be a new online resource for VENICE camera users. It will feature some of Technicolor’s most established looks inspired by their cinematic history.

Another enhancement in VENICE Version 6.0 firmware is the ability to shoot with a second user frame line. This enables cinematographers to more easily take advantage of VENICE’s large sensor size to shoot for both horizontal and vertical distribution within the same composition.
