Premium laptop and gaming accessories maker Razer introduces the new Razer Blade 15 Studio Edition laptop for video creators, editors, VFX artists, and graphic designers.
The all-new Razer Blade 15 Studio Edition is quite a beast! Moreover, the laptop is now equipped with the latest 8-core 10th Gen Intel processor and a monster 16GB RAM Nvidia Quadro GPU. A mobile-workstation designed for every type of creator from audio engineer to VFX artist, the Razer Blade Studio’s performance comes with the price tag too.
This update comes after a similar update to the “regular” Razer Blade 15 line.
More CPU Cores, and More GPU Grunt!
Starting at $4,299 USD the beastly laptop is pushing the boundaries of portability and performance reserved solely for professionals requiring top-end gear to do their job.
Editors and graphics designers will find the custom calibrated 4K OLED touch display, the built-in UHS-III SD card reader very useful. And also, another major new upgrade is charging and power delivery via the USB-C port!
5.1 Ghz CPU Clock Speeds and Nvidia Quadro RTX with 16GB VRAM
Needless to say, the latest 8-Core 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-10875H processor is no joke; the chip is capable of up to 5.1 GHz clock speeds when utilizing Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost technology. And while many want to see AMD Ryzer 9 chips in Razar laptops, the pairing of an 8-Core Intel i7 chip and workstation-grade Nvidia Quadro RTX graphics provides plenty of grunt for even the most intensive app loads.
Furthermore, the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPU comes loaded with 16GB of GDDR6 memory and 48 RT Cores for improved real-time ray tracing performance.
“If I was to ask myself a few years ago, if I could pull off a high concept CG animated project like Battlesuit on a laptop remotely – I would probably think I was insane,” said Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull, Director and Producer of Battlesuit. “Today, tools like Unreal Engine powered by NVIDIA GPU rendering on a Blade laptop are empowering filmmakers like myself to push the boundaries of sci-fi storytelling without restrictions, thus enabling me to realize my vision regardless of how wild my imagination is”.
4K OLED Display with 100% DCI-P3 Coverage
The new Blade 15 Studio comes with a Gorilla-glass covered, 15.6-inch 4K OLED touch display with 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. In addition, the display has been calibrated for colour accuracy and a low Delta-E for consistency when working in different environments.
Moreover, the display also features an ultra-low response time of 1ms for creators working in VFX or video game development.
Edit 6K and 8K RED RAW Footage
The laptop’s outer shell is machined out of a single block of aluminium and anodized with a mercury white finish. This yields a thin yet durable design giving pro users more reliability for years to come.
“I’ve been working with the previous Blade 15 Studio over the last few months and have found it not only to be a great day-to-day laptop but when you need to call on it to really push things, this machine comes alive,” said Jarred Land, CEO of RED Digital Cinema. “Now it looks like the new Blade Studio is even better with the new 8-core processor and YES! The ability to now charge over USB-C/Thunderbolt. The new updates will surely make this my primary laptop in the future.”
The 16GB VRAM in the Quadro GPU should be plenty to handle 6K and 8K Red footage, something that most laptops understandably struggle with. Furthermore, the new Blade 15 Studio Edition boasts a wide range of pro connectivity options such as UHS-III SD Card reader, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB-C with Thunderbolt 3.
In addition to data and video transfer, the USB-C ports now grant users much greater flexibility allowing for use with a low powered universal USB-C power adapter for charging in an emergency.
