Budget cine lens and filter maker NiSi unveils first 15mm f4 ultra-wide angle lens for Sony FE, Nikon Z, and Canon RF mounts.
Furthermore, the new NiSi 15mm f4 lens has been specially designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens boasts a full-metal housing, with an advanced optical formula encompassing 12 lens elements in 10 groups.
Some of you may be familiar with the NiSi filters, including polarizers, IRND, and many others, which have gained quite the popularity among indie filmmakers. As mentioned above, a couple of years back, NiSi brought out a set of affordable full-frame cine primes.
Manual Focus Ultra-Wide Angle Prime Lens
Even though this looks like a really decent lens for video, the fact that it’s manual focus only may not go so well with a lot Sony A7sIII shooters for example, who prefer to use AF. NiSi say the lens offers corner-to-corner sharpness, which is particularly important for photography. Which is still the main purpose for this lens – architecture, landscape, street and much more.

Compact Size, Close Focus, Perfect for Gimbals
The new NiSi 15mm lens tips the scales at just 470 grams and measures just 75.6mm x 80.5mm. And furthermore, the 10 blade iris should be enough for pleasing bokeh.
As far as angle of view goes, it’s pretty wide – the 15mm gets you a 112 degrees field of view when mounted on full-frame 35mm cameras. This is quite a wide angle and is perfect for handheld gimbals.
Impressively, the new NiSi 15mm f4 can focus at just 0.2m, giving you the ability to capture some wild perspectives.
The front filter thread is 72mm giving photographers and video users the ability to use screw filters and also 100mm plug-in filters without vignetting.
Furthermore, NiSi say their high-quality nano coating also provides optimal protection for the front lens, while the matt coating reduces reflections on the image.
