Theatres, cinemas and every other public place where people gather to experience culture and/or to be entertained have been closed due to the global health crisis.
And while Netflix and other streaming services provide conventional entertainment in the form of episodic drama and feature films, we can all do more and expand our cultural horizons. All from our couches, of course.

“DON CARLO” – Opera Play (The Metropolitan Opera)
Synopsis: “Don Carlo” is an opera play in V Acts from Giuseppe Verdi. The action takes place in France, c. 1560. Against the wishes of his father and king of Spain, price Don Carlo travels to France, where negotiations are under way for peace between Spain and France. There, he falls in love with the daughter of the French king – Elisabeth. But the arrangement takes an unexpected twist and the love between the young royals turns into tragedy.
The opera starts at 7:30 EDT on 2 April. It will be open 23 hours after it ends.

“ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS” – Theatrical Play (National Theater London)
Synopsis: Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes a minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancée’s dad. Holed up at The Cricketers’ Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel.

„TCHAIKOVSKY`S SWAN LAKE“ – Theatrical Play (Berlin State Opera)
Synopsis: The play tells the story of Prince Siegfried and the spellbound Princess Odette, who is trapped in the figure of a swan.
It starts at 12:00 PM CEST today, April 2 and it will be open 24 hours after the end.
