The new Megadap Leica M-Nikon Z adapter brings autofocus functionality to manual Leica M lenses and Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. The Megadap adapter is compatible with the latest Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II as well as the Z6 and Z7, and even the more budget-friendly Nikon Z5.
Built-in Electronics and Extendable Bayonet
Furthermore, this unique adapter replaces the focusing mechanism of the lens with its own extendable bayonet structure. In addition, the Megadap AF adapter comes with
electronic contacts, to facilitate communication with the Nikon Z cameras and therefore use the in-camera phase-detection algorithm to correctly achieve focus.
Then, the the built-in motor inside the adapter will drive the bayonet to extend or
retract. And thus, the distance between the lens and the camera sensor will be adjusted until the subject is in focus.

- Servo AF (AF-F) mode

Patented Circular Extension Design
Unlike other similar adapters for other camera systems, the new
Megadap adapter incorporates a “new patented circular extension structure.” This means that it can support heavier lenses without adapter flex.
Additionally, the adapter has a much longer extension (maximum 6.5mm bayonet extension). Moreover, this is longer than the focus throw of most manual lenses in the market and is gives the lens a much wider focusing range. And last, but not least, a micro USB port on the side can be used for future firmware updates.
Stack Adapters for Nikon F, Canon FD, EF, M42
According to the manufacturer, in addition to the Leica M-mount lenses, users can also stack additional adapters to turn lenses with other mounts. Those include popular mounts such as Canon EF, Nikon F, Canon FD, Pentax PK, MD, OM, M42, CY and more.
And this means that photographers and video creators, who own a bunch of vintage lenses now have an entirely new experience with the modern autofocus technology.
