GoPro has announced a Bluetooth remote control simply called “The Remote” for GoPro Hero9 Black, Hero8 and GoPro MAX.
Furthermore, the new wearable device is waterproof up to 16 feet, and lets you easily access most frequently used camera functions while biking, surfing, and other activities.
New Remote for GoPro Hero9 and MAX
In addition, The Remote (not to be confused with the GoPro Smart Remote) uses Bluetooth Low Energy for maximum battery life and pairs with your camera in seconds. A large high-resolution display gives users access to resolutions, frame rates, recording status at a glance.
Furthermore, the new remote features big glove-friendly buttons and a handy wrist strap for easy access. It’s design allows it to be mounted just about anywhere including handle bars, a roll bar, and your wrist.
Which GoPro Cameras Work with The Remote?
The new “The Remote” is compatible with the latest GoPro action cameras – namely the Hero9 Black, the Hero8 Black, and also the 360 capable GoPro MAX. It is not yet known, if older models will get support in future firmware updates.

GoPro MAX 360 camera and HERO8 Black Updates
In addition to the latest Hero9 update, GoPro also recently released firmware updates for the GoPro MAX 360 degree camera and the previous Hero8 Black model.
