Well, NAB Show 2020 may have been cancelled, but this will not stop major manufacturers from announcing new products. Canon has just announced the company has scheduled a Virtual Press Conference for April 20th.
Canon NAB 2020 Press Conference Time and Date
During the livestream, Canon is expected to show-off the company’s new “professional imaging products and technologies”. We have a strong feeling a new Canon C300 Mark III may make an appearance at NAB 2020.
At least, that’s is currently the rumor. The current C300 Mark II is getting old now, it’s nearly 5 years old, so a successor at this time, is not unreasonable.
The Canon NAB 2020 Virtual Press Conference will be streamed on the Canon U.S.A. website at usa.canon.com/VPC2020 on Monday, April 20, 2020, at 1:00 PM EDT.
“As Canon continues to monitor the global response surrounding the spread of COVID-19, the effects of which have impacted every aspect of our lives, we would like to thank everyone for their understanding and ongoing support during this challenging time,” said Kazuto Ogawa, president, and chief operating officer, Canon U.S.A., Inc.
“The road ahead is long and filled with uncertainty, but when the broadcast and cinema industries are ready to resume ‘normal’ activities, Canon wants them to know we will be there to continue to support professionals with new products and technologies that meet their needs.”
Will Canon Announce the Canon C300 Mark III?
NAB Show is the place for big announcements. In the past, Canon has traditionally announced Cinema EOS Cameras at NAB Show. So, I won’t be surprised to see them announce a new Canon Cinema EOS camera.
Canon’s press release basically confirms, they will announce new products in the “broadcast and cinema categories”.
“…new Canon broadcast and cinema products featured during the Virtual Press Conference are aligned with the current and growing needs of the respective industries such as 4K UHD and HDR, as well as evolving technologies.”
