Canon is set to announce a new cinema camera during their Canon Vision event on September 24th. According to the press release, the “virtual trade show” event is scheduled for Thursday, 24th September 2020 at 14:00 CEST / 8:00 AM EDT.

Furthermore, according to the pre-launch leaks and teasers the Canon C70 is a compact, cube-like shaped camera that is likely to sit above the C100/C100 MKII range. From the leaked images, the camera looks like a 1DX Mark III on steroids with a bulkier build and video-oriented design.
Also, the rumors state the C70 is likely to feature an RF mount, 10bit 4K 4:2:2 on-board recording, built-in NDs, but no internal raw capabilities. Some view it as an RF mount “Mini-C300 Mark III”, which can do 4K Raw internally.

Canon today announces it will reveal details of a new cinema camera on Canon Vision – a platform launching at 14:00 CEST on Thursday 24th September 2020, which reproduces the trade show environment virtually.
