Blackmagic Video Assist 3.2.1 Update and Recommended SD Cards

Blackmagic Design releases a remedial Video Assist 3.2.1 firmware update for the Video Assist 12G HDR models fixing an issue with LCD backlight noise. There are no new features included in this firmware.

In addition, Blackmagic Design also released a list of approved SD cards for the latest Video Assist 3G models

Blackmagic Video Assist 3.2.1 Details:

  • Fix audible noise on Video Assist 5-inch 12G HDR related to LCD brightness

  • macOS 10.15 Catalina
  • macOS 10.14 Mojave
  • USB 2.0 port for software updates

Minimum system requirements for Windows

  • Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit
  • A suitable USB 2.0 port

The latest Video Assist 3G models are more budget friendly options for those that do not need to record Blackmagic Raw. Moreover, the recorders are limited to 1080p in either ProRes or DNx.
