Blackmagic Camera 6.9.6 Update, Now Available to Download

Latest update fixes a bug with BMPCC 4K/6K models and adds new features to Fiber Converters

Blackmagic Design has just released Blackmagic Camera 6.9.6 update adding new features to their Studio Fiber Converters and Blackmagic RAW 2.0 beta.

Furthermore, the latest update improves audio output channel selection as well as adding side-tone adjustment and the ability to enable phantom power on intercom 1 and 2.

Improvements and New Features for Fiber Converters

Additionally, Blackmagic Camera 6.9.6 update also adds Level A and B switching for down converted 12G program return and the ability to lock to bi-level reference. Moreover, the latest update also focuses on improved HDR performance, improved reference timing accuracy and stability improvements on SMPTE fiber.

And while Blackmagic Design has not included new features to BMPCC 4K and Blackmagic Pocket 6K, such users do benefit from a bug fix relating to Bluetooth commands not responding.

New Features for SMPTE Fiber Converters

  • Sidetone adjustment on intercom 1 and 2.
  • New ability to enable phantom power on intercom 1 and 2.
  • Level A and B option for down converted 12G program return.
  • Ability to lock to bi-level reference.
  • Pass-through of HDR payload IDs.
  • Better iris control from 12G SDI signals.
  • Improved reference timing accuracy and stability.
  • General performance and stability improvements.

New Improvements for BMPCC 4K and 6K

  • Fixed issue with certain Bluetooth commands not responding.

No new features in 6.9.6 for other camera models.

Blackmagic RAW 2.0 Public Beta 2 New Features:

  • Added support for Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K.
  • Support for dual card recording.
  • Updated to Blackmagic Color Science Gen 5.
  • Additional ISO support for URSA Mini Pro G1.
  • Support for Blackmagic RAW 2.0 on Windows.
  • General performance and stability improvements.
