Accsoon announces Cineeye 2S, their newest low-cost SDI and HDMI equipped 5GHz wireless transmitter for video creators. The perfect wireless companion for the new normal of socially distanced filmmaking, the Cineeye 2S brings a more professional SDI input expanding support to more cameras.

In a nutshell, the Cineeye 2S is an affordable tool that lets you send a 1080p signal wirelessly to up to 4 iOS or Android devices at a range of up to 150m, or approx. 500ft. This way the director, producer, or client can easily get access to the camera feed on a table or smartphone.

Moreover, the new Cineeye 2S builds on the success of Accsoon’s previous HDMI-only Cineeye transmitters. And it also demonstrates the company’s commitment to also serve video professionals using SDI-based cameras such as the RED Komodo with a more budget-friendly wireless transmission system.

Send a reliable 1080p signal to up to 4 iOS/Android devices on set

Once connected to your smartphone the Cineeye 2S can even stream to audiences or remote clients using Youtube and other content delivery networks via RTMP.

Furthermore, the setup process appears to be quite straightforward with easy menu-driven options for channel selection and transmission settings. Also, the unit has a clear 1.3″ OLED display for status display at all times.

Simple push buttons on the front makes it easy to make quick changes and access settings, which can also be controlled via the Accssoon Go app.

Stable, low-latency 5GHz transmission

The Cineeye 2S can accept and transmit a 1080P video signal at up to 60fps from practically any modern mirrorless, cinema or professional camera. Signal strength, stability, and an average latency of less than 60ms mark it out as superior to other similarly priced systems.

At startup it uses automatic frequency selection to select the cleanest channel from up to 20 available. By choosing the frequency with least resistance it will be less prone to signal interference. If the user wishes they can override this with their own selection.

The Cineeye 2S also streams the embedded audio accepting 44.1KHz/48KHz 16bit/24bit inputs which it then transports using a low compression codec for nearly lossless sound monitoring.

Turn your smartphone into a LUT monitor

Thanks to the free Accsoon Go app, available for both iOS and Android, you can turn almost any modern iOS or Android phone or tablet into a fully featured monitor.

Also, users have access to advanced features like pinch to zoom, user selectable LUTs, peaking, false color, waveform, histogram and more. The interface allows users to rapidly switch between setup menus and a totally clean uncluttered view of the image.

Additionally, the app allows custom LUTs or CDL to be loaded for preview on the iOS or Android device screen.

Furthermore, multiple presets for popular camera Log profiles are also supported, in addition to various aspect ratios. Surprisingly, the app also supports previews for anamorphic lenses with 1.25x, 1.33x, 1.5x, 1.78x and 2x de-squeeze options.

Wireless Camera Control

The Accsoon Go app also allows limited control for specific camera models. Users can trigger and stop recording using the appropriate accessory cable for the following cameras:

  • Sony alpha7 and a9 series
  • Canon EOS R/5D IV,
  • Panasonic GH5/GH5S/S1H
  • Nikon Z6/Z7
  • Fuji X-T3 and others.
